We made Hummus today.
This week is Sport/Health Week in Primary.
We decided to make some healthy snacks.
We cut carrot and cucumber sticks to dip into our Hummus and here is the recipe so that it can be made at home.....
2 x 400g of chickpeas (keep some of the liquid)
4 teaspoon tahini (we didn't have any of this to put in)
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tsp crushed sea salt
6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 and a half tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice
(You can put in some paprika and some chopped coriander leaves to decorate).
Rinse the chickpeas in cold water and place in the food processor.
Add the tahini, garlic, salt, lemon juice and 7 tablespoons of the liquid from the cans.
Turn on the food processor and slowly pour in the olive oil.
When the mixture is fully combined and smooth, tip it into a serving dish.
Drizzle with some olive oil and decorate with some paprika and chopped coriander leaves.
